What is being studied?
DSIP is a nine-amino-acid peptide first isolated and characterised in electrophysiology experiments investigating delta- and spindle-pattern EEG activity. Its defined sequence makes it useful as a reference material for comparing the parent peptide with fragments, sequence variants and analytical standards.
Later laboratory work has also examined DSIP transport, enzymatic degradation and metabolite formation in cell-based barrier models. Results are strongly dependent on the experimental system, concentration and exposure conditions; the listing does not imply an established physiological outcome.
