Why laboratories choose pens and cartridges
A contained 3ml presentation supports clear product identification, consistent format comparison and documented repeat procurement. Compatible refill cartridges also allow an organisation to retain its reusable pen hardware while ordering the required prepared research presentation separately.
This item is prepared only after ordering to minimise elapsed time in the prepared state before dispatch. Refrigerate at 2-8 C and protect from light on receipt. Stability is compound-, preparation- and storage-dependent, so retain and follow the supplied product and batch documentation.

Description and research context
MOTS-c is a mitochondrial-derived peptide encoded by a short open reading frame within the mitochondrial 12S rRNA region. It is used as a molecular reference for studying signalling between mitochondrial genetic information and nuclear or cytosolic responses.
The original discovery work linked MOTS-c exposure in cellular and mouse models with folate-cycle and purine-biosynthesis changes followed by AMPK activation. These observations are preclinical and depend on the model, concentration and exposure interval.
Applications in research
- Mitochondrial-derived peptide signalling studies
- AMPK, folate-cycle and purine-biosynthesis pathway assays
- Mitochondrial-to-nuclear communication and stress-response models
Precautions and interpretation
For controlled laboratory research only. Not for human or veterinary use. The cited findings come from specific biochemical, cellular, structural or preclinical models and must not be treated as usage guidance or evidence of a defined outcome outside those models.
