What is being studied?

Tirzepatide (LY3298176) is a fatty-acid-modified peptide engineered for agonist activity at the GIP and GLP-1 receptors. The dual-receptor design provides a defined comparator for studies of selective GLP-1R agonism, selective GIPR agonism and combined incretin-receptor signalling.

Discovery studies characterised receptor activation in recombinant and endogenous cell systems, including signalling and functional assays. Further preclinical work has examined the contribution of GIPR activity to the compound's molecular profile. Findings depend on receptor expression, assay design and experimental model.
